Uggggg

Today was a very hard day at work. Things are going great but the new procedures are really hard.

Anyway, it has left me tired and grumpy. I really really want to have a fun night out with friends. I was supposed to go out last Friday but Chelsea was babysitting for my boss and I wanted to be home for her to call if she felt she needed me.

I am so grumpy and I think it has rubbed off on the kids. I feel horrible about it. Does anyone else get grumpy?

How many times can a child call out "mom" while in bed just to get attention.

Have you ever found yourself saying "now thats to many hugs....go to sleep."
Seriously? Can a child have to many hugs? Apparently I can because I said it....tonight.

Ok thats it....Im done for the day. Good night!

Sigh, yes a mommy can get grumpy!! :) I know.. I've been there. My poor daughter keeps asking to kiss me and the baby. She just turned 4 and CANNOT wait for her baby sister to get here. Anyhow, grumpy mommy told her that kissing was off limits. I really just wanted her to eat her supper already. But really? Probably not my shining moment.

Everyone has grumpy days. I told my admin yesterday, "I'm leaving right now before I get any grumpier." :)

I have 4 children and I have FOR SURE had grumpy times. When I am grumpy, I sometimes just tell them I am grumpy...that it doesn't really have anything to do with them and or anything in particular...but I am just grumpy. In return...I have given them permission to be grumpy for no reason sometimes. The tricky part is to keep it under control so it doesn't turn into disrespect or unkind grumpiness. :) Blessings on you!

lol The hug thing is something that both my boys did for a little while. Back and forth I went every time they called out. It lasted for a few months then they stopped. Enjoy it. Before long they will all be grown and not want hugs from mom.

I also tell my 3 boys (4 and under!) if I'm grumpy. It's ok to be honest and they'll usually be very sympathetic and ask if there's anything they can do to help :) I know, so sweet. And yes, that happens far more than once a week! sigh. A child may not be able to have enough hugs, but he CAN try to get out of bed time at mama's expense...he KNOWS you love him and like giving hugs so he uses it! :D SEE you ARE a good mama and he KNOWS it!

I so identify with you about being tired and grumpy!! I wish I could truthfully say that I never get grumpy. I hate the combination of being tired and grumpy! My job working with 5 mentally handicaped adults in a group home/duplex setting sometimes makes me feel not only tired and grumpy, but at times over whelmed, frustrated, and just plain "at the end of my rope!!" There have been times that I've felt so overwelmed that I've positioned my self so noone could see me and cried. that gave me the strength to keep going until some one could come reliveve me! Fortunatly, I can cry out to God and he gives me the strength I need to make it through. I can imagine how hard it is to be a single mom. You are on call 24/7! Noone comes at a scheduled time to relieve you. I am single. No kids, just a cat. He is happy if I keep his food bowl full, let him drink out of the bath tub faucet when I'm in the bathroom and give him a little attention. About "Too many hugs"- I personally can not have too many hugs. I crave them and thrive on them and I get grumpy if I haven't had any good hugs from friends for a while. I'm a huggie person. Kids need hugs too, of course, but I think in the case you wrote about your child was asking for "one more hug" as a stall tactic. It's hard for some kids to wind down and go to sleep. They don't want to miss out on the fun w/ Mom and their siblings. They don't want to be alone in their room. They really can't fall asleep and they're bored. I would say "That's enough hugs for tonight. You know I love you. It's time to go to sleep now. I'll give you a big hug tomorrow morning when you wake up after (you name the time so the kid dosen't wake up at 4pm and expect to get a hug)!" Sounds like you are an exceptional mom, but I know being a single mom can leave you tired and grumpy some times. It sound's like you're doing just fine most of the time! HUGS for you Rebekah! Hope you can blog again soon! Tracy from Iowa
